Well the day has come. 25 years have passed for me on this planet (but don't think I'm going to tell you about my life on other Earths...)
I complain a lot about a lot of things, most small and meaningless, some a bit more profound, but at the end of the day, I'm very grateful to still be kicking around. I have great parents, amazing friends, a job, a place of my own and a kitty I get to take care of. I'm constantly learning new things about myself and the world and I feel very excited about the fact that that's not going to change.
I'll never know what's going to happen tomorrow or the next day but I do know that I can choose to use my finite time in a number of different ways and I hope that I can put it to good use.
I spoke to my dad on the phone this morning and he said the one thing he wishes he'd done differently when he was younger was to take more risks. I'm hoping that I can be that risk-taker that he has become today, but do it a little bit earlier.
Life's pretty good when it all comes down to it. I'm happy, healthy, and am doing pretty alright.
Here's to the first quarter century of my life. May I have three more.
