Squeeing Saturday

I had honestly planned to make a Fangirl Friday yesterday but I feel asleep at 8:15pm and woke up this morning at 9:00am so that was a wash.

Instead, we'll do Squeeing Saturday!

Podcast of the Week

The Indoor Kids

This. Podcast. Is. Awesome. Hosted by Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon (they're married and it's great), The Indoor Kids is technically a podcast about video games but usually devolves into talking about all things pop culture either amongst themselves or with their geeky friends. I'm getting so many recommendations out of it for new books and graphic novels to play, TV shows and movies to watch and games to play that I don't know what to do with myself. It's so much fun, very funny and a great way to pass long commutes. Go download episodes of it now. Like, right now.

Foundation of the Week

Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup

So I was really loving my NARS Radiant Cream Compact foundation but I ran out of it in like a month. No beuno for a product that's as expensive as it is. I had used Giorgio Armani foundation many years ago but thought it was out of my price range. Turns out, it's really not as expensive as I remembered. This foundation, guys. OMG, you can't even feel it, it's that thin. BUT! IT HAS GREAT COVERAGE! Since my skin is still riddled with dark marks (and not the Harry Potter kind) and scars (still, not the Harry Potter kind), I was worried that such a thin foundation wouldn't be good enough. But you definitely get what you pay for with this guy, plus it's double the size of the NARS foundation. I got it at Holt Renfrew but Sephora is now stocking these bad boys. It's definitely a good investment.

Streaming Service of the Week

HBO Now

Yeah, technically I shouldn't be able to have access to HBO Now, but we won't get into that right now. This Sunday, some of my favourite shows come back from hiatus (Veep, Game of Thrones, and Silicon Valley) and now I can watch them IN HIGH DEFINITION from my very own Apple TV. The first month of HBO Now is absolutely free, and then it's $15.00 per month. We'll see if I decide to keep it going after my first free month, but having access to all the HBO shows and movies is kind of too hard to resist. I was watching old episodes of Veep last night, and damn, I don't think I'll be able to give this shit up. It's also downloadable for iPhone and iPad.

And that's it! Again, another short Fangirl Friday/Squeeing Saturday, but I've been pretty lame and haven't really discovered anything new lately. Just finished another novel in the Discworld series (Pyramids), but it wasn't my favourite and not really worth getting into. Also, I haven't started watching Daredevil (well, that's not true, I watched the first ten minutes then turned it off, it really wasn't grabbing my attention like I wanted it to. I might give it another shot soon) and I haven't played any new games in forever (though The Indoor Kids might change that!).

Any recommendations for something new to get into? Let me know!

Later days!
